Steinway Academy Summer Concerts

Join us for two very special concerts with Orchestra Santa Monica, the Pacific Symphony, and young soloists destined for tomorrow's concert stage. These amazing talents have trained at some of the most prestigious piano schools in the world: the Shanghai Conservatory of Music Middle School and the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music Middle School in China.

Master Class Series

Steinway Academy invites the community to observe distinguished piano masters as they present master classes to visiting students from China's most prestigious pre-conservatory schools. We have recruited renowned pianists to provide a combined 24 hours of master class lessons and 32 hours of private lessons throughout our 2-week summer program. These accomplished performance artists contribute their exquisite piano skills and rich teaching experience to a rare learning experience for students. Tickets are $10 a day, and available Online Pre-Sale Only.

Benjamin Pasternak:

July 22 & 23, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm each day

Benjamin Pasternak has performed as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician on four continents. His orchestral engagements have included appearances as a soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Orchestre symphonique de Quebec. He served as faculty at Oxford Academy, Boston University, and Peabody Conservatory.

Antoinette Perry:

July 24 & 25, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm each day

Antoinette Perry has appeared throughout the U.S., Europe and China as a soloist and chamber musician. Artist-faculty Emeritus at the Aspen Music Festival and School, she performed in over 100 festival concerts during her 25-year tenure. Ms. Perry served on the UCLA piano faculty for 14 years and has been teaching at USC’s Thornton School of Music since 1996.

Fabio Bidini:

July 29 & 30, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm each day

Fabio Bidini is one of today’s most important pianists and pedagogues, faculty member at The Colburn School. His outstanding piano playing brought him to his London debut with the London Symphony Orchestra under Michael TilsonThomas. He performed at the United Nations as a soloist of BBC Wales and had his North American debut with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Kevin Kenner:

August 1 & August 2, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm each day

Kevin Kenner has won the International Chopin Competition, the International Terrence Judd Award, and many more. He has performed as a soloist with world-class  rchestras including the Halle, BBC Symphony, and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. He has collaborated with conductors such as Jahja Ling, Jacek Kaspszyk, and Jerzy Maksymiuk, just to name a few.

OC Rising Stars Piano Competition

Come support 100 piano students as they compete in the first annual OC Rising Stars Piano Competition (OCSTARS)! The competition occurs over 2 days in multiple age categories (ages 6-35), and features a unique combination of master classes and auditions. The goal is to advance and recognize artistic achievement and passion of our young musicians and to help propel them forward in their musical journey.
